About this site
The Canyon lies off Makronisos Island, a narrow island off the coast of Lavreotiki in southeastern Attica, separated from the Attic mainland by a strait near Cape Sounio and typically reached by boat from the Lavrio area. It is rated an advanced dive, reaching a maximum depth of around 23 metres, with a rocky, channeled terrain consistent with its name. Divers here have reported grouper and octopus among the site's residents.
