About this site
Pyrgaki is a site off Makronisos Island, a narrow islet lying off the Lavreotiki coast of southeastern Attica, near the tip of the Attic peninsula close to Lavrio. The area sits along a stretch of the Aegean known for its mining history and the strait separating the island from the mainland. The dive reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated a beginner site. Divers have reported leaf scorpionfish, mantis shrimp, and nudibranchs here.
