About this site

The Canyon lies off Weh Island, near Banda Aceh at the northern tip of Sumatra, in waters where the Andaman Sea meets the Indian Ocean. Diving around Weh Island is typically arranged through operators based in Sabang, the main town on the island's northwest coast. The site is a wall dive reaching a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported bannerfish, barracuda, eagle rays, manta rays, mola mola, Napoleon wrasse, nudibranchs, octopus, snapper, surgeonfish, trevally, and unicornfish along the wall.
