The Saltee Islands lie off the coast of County Wexford in Munster, southeast Ireland, a stretch of water known for exposed rocky reefs and scattered wreck sites around the islands. The Idaho rests among these waters near the Saltees, an area reached by boat from harbours along the Wexford coast. The wreck lies at a maximum depth of around 20 metres.
