About this site
The Wall sits off Plavnik Island in the Kvarner Gulf, a small, sparsely populated island in Primorje-Gorski Kotar county between Krk and Cres, usually reached by boat from operators on Krk or the nearby mainland coast. The island's limestone cliffs continue underwater here, forming the steep rock face that gives the site its name. Divers have reported yellow gorgonians along the rock, along with Mediterranean damselfish, painted combers, and rainbow wrasse moving over the wall. Smaller life such as golden and red-mouthed gobies has also been spotted in the crevices, alongside Atlantic purple sea urchins on the exposed rock.
