Train Wreck

The Train Wreck lies off the coast of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, near Sapodilla Bay, where a set of steam locomotives believed to date from a failed early 1900s railway barge project rest on the seabed. The train cars sit scattered on a sandy bottom in shallow water, encrusted with coral growth after more than a century underwater. It draws divers and snorkelers curious about the unusual sight of locomotives in a marine setting rather than for typical reef life. Because of its shallow depth, it is generally considered an easy, accessible dive.
