About this site
The Tri Star Lockheed L1011 is a Lockheed L-1011 TriStar aircraft sunk deliberately as an artificial reef off the coast of Aqaba, Jordan, on the Red Sea. It was stripped and placed underwater to give divers a large intact-looking airframe to explore, part of Jordan's effort to build dive attractions along its short coastline. The site sits near other purpose-sunk attractions in the Aqaba Marine Park area, reachable by boat from the city. It reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive.
