Trunk Cay sits in US Virgin Islands waters, near Trunk Bay off St. John, within the Virgin Islands National Park area. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 4 metres and is rated a beginner dive. The bottom holds a mix of coral types, including elkhorn, finger, lettuce, greater star, massive starlet, and mustard hill coral, giving the shallow reef a varied structure to swim over. Divers exploring it have reported angelfish, Atlantic blue tang, and parrotfish, along with occasional sightings of eagle rays and nurse sharks.
