About this site
Turtle Canyons lies off the coast of Belize's Stann Creek District, within the reef and atoll system that runs along the country's Caribbean coastline. It sits in open water east of the mainland, in the general vicinity of the barrier reef and cay chain. The site is a shallow reef dive, reaching a maximum depth of around 3.7 metres, and is rated a beginner site. Sea turtles are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported nurse sharks and stingrays on the reef.
