Umm Gamar Nord lies in the Red Sea off Qesm Hurghada, north of Hurghada city, on the northern flank of the Umm Gamar reef reached by boat from that stretch of coastline. The name Umm Gamar translates roughly to Mother of the Moon, and this wall section sits within the cluster of reef sites commonly visited on day trips out of Hurghada's marinas. The wall reaches a maximum depth of around 27 metres and is rated an advanced dive due to strong current. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks along this stretch.
