Valley of the Rays lies off Maap, one of the four main islands of Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia, within the broader Yap Islands group in the western Pacific. Yap's channels and outer reef areas are known regionally for manta ray encounters, and dive sites here are typically reached by short boat runs from operators based near Colonia. The waters off Maap face the open Pacific along Yap's barrier reef system. Divers at this site have reported manta rays passing through.
