Nea Kameni is the small volcanic islet sitting inside the Santorini caldera, formed by eruptions of the same volcanic system that produced the island's dramatic cliffs. Dive sites around it draw on the underwater volcanic terrain, with the seabed shaped by lava flows and vents from the caldera's ongoing activity. Boats to this area typically depart from Santorini's ports such as Athinios or Vlychada.
