About this site
Driven ashore after she broke her tow cable to the tug Samson. The hull broke in two places on either side of the mainmast, and the crew endured a rough night onboard before being rescued the next day. Portions of the hull lie near shore, while some frames and part of the coal cargo have been moved farther out. Lies in about 14.6 m; sank 1883.
