About this site
Waialea Bay, also known locally as Beach 69, sits along the South Kohala coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, north of Puako. The bay is part of a stretch of coastline dotted with lava rock coves and sandy pockets fronting the leeward shore, with a reef bottom typical of this part of the island. Divers exploring the reef here have reported octopus among the marine life.
