About this site
Yong Hua Wreck is a fish processing boat, 75 metres long, that caught fire and sank in deep water not far from Koh Lipe. It lies on its port side in 45 metres, with the highest part rising to 30 metres, and the dive is rated technical.
The current can change from mild to very strong. Soft corals and sea fans have started to grow on the hull, attracting lionfish and scorpionfish, while groupers lurk in the dark openings and tuna and trevally pass by.
On the ascent, a school of hundreds of large barracuda often circles divers on the line. The diving season runs from November to May.
