About this site
Cano Island lies off the Osa Peninsula on Costa Rica's Pacific coast, within Cano Island Biological Reserve, and is reached by boat from Drake Bay or Uvita. The reserve's dive sites are built around scattered rocky outcrops and pinnacles surrounding the island, with 3 Rocks referring to one such rock formation offshore. It is rated a beginner dive, reaching a maximum depth of around 18.3 metres. Divers have reported angelfish, eagle rays, hammerhead sharks, octopus, scorpionfish, and surgeonfish around the rocks, and some have also noted bull sharks and strong currents in the area.
