Abu Kafan

Abu Kafan lies off Qesm Safaga along the Red Sea coast of Egypt, within the Red Sea Governorate south of Hurghada. Dive operators based in Safaga typically reach sites like this by boat, out among the offshore reefs scattered along this stretch of coastline. The site is a reef dive reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated advanced. Barracuda are common here, and divers have also reported grouper, nudibranchs, and tuna on the reef. Being an offshore site, it can be exposed to weather, which is worth factoring into planning a trip out to it.
