About this site
Agujero azul lies off Spain in the Canary Islands, near Lanzarote or Fuerteventura's northern reaches, and is dived as a cave site reaching a maximum depth of around 25 metres, generally rated intermediate. Divers have reported a wide range of life around the formation, including angelsharks, common octopus, European cuttlefish, European parrotfish, arrow crabs, and Madeira scorpionfish, along with wide-eyed flounder and the occasional regal sea goddess nudibranch. Hammerhead sharks and stingrays have also been spotted here, though sightings of these larger animals are less consistent.
