About this site
Playa Chica is a small bay right in Puerto del Carmen, on the southern coast of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, and one of the most popular shore diving spots on the island thanks to its easy access from the beach. The site sits close to the town's promenade, with volcanic rock formations typical of the Canarian coastline just offshore, reaching a maximum depth of around 23 metres over a reef bottom and rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported cuttlefish, moray eels, octopus, and wrasse around the rocks. The path down from the parking area to the beach includes a steep slope, worth noting before gearing up.
