About this site
Aka Buoy (赤ブイ) is a boat dive ten minutes from Chichijima in the Ogasawara Islands, Tokyo, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 14 m. The rock rises steeply from 25 m to near the surface, where batfish school just below the water line, and when the current is running fast large fish including spotted eagle rays turn up, with anemonefish, boarfish and damselfish on the rock. Current runs here; intermediate and above.
