About this site
Alimatha Jetty sits beside Alimatha island in Vaavu Atoll, on the eastern side of the Felidhu Atoll in the central Maldives. The jetty area is a well known night dive spot, historically associated with nurse sharks that gathered around the resort's fish cleaning activity near the pontoon. Depths here are shallow, generally in the range of 5 to 15 metres, making it accessible to most divers, though night dives with sharks and rays moving close to divers call for calm buoyancy and control. Along with nurse sharks, divers commonly report stingrays and various reef fish drawn in by the light and activity around the jetty structure.
