About this site
Devana Kandu is a channel dive in Vaavu Atoll, one of the atolls southeast of Male in the Maldives, where the reef opens from the inner lagoon at Alimata into the open water of the Felidhu Atoll. Channels like this in the Maldives are known for drift diving where currents flow between ocean and lagoon, and Vaavu Atoll in particular has a reputation among Maldivian dive operators for grey reef sharks and other pelagics drawn to these passes.
