About this site
This Canadian schooner was, with the J.A. Smith, part of a tow that was left at anchor in the western Straits of Mackinac while the towing vessel, the steamer Mattawan, went to refuel at Cheboygan. A storm arose and both vessels were blown ashore and broken up. Ice and waves have reduced this site to scattered boards for snorkelers and kayaks to find and view. Lies in about 3.7 m; sank 1887.
