About this site
The Bay City built Fred McBrier was lost in a collision in October 1890 with a cargo of iron ore. The stern is largely intact, including the engine and boilers, but the forward deck and port side of the hull have shifted to one side. A mast lies on the bottom off the bow. Much forward gear, including an anchor and the capstan have been salvaged but the rudder and propeller remain in the 100 ft depths. Lies in about 31.7 m; sank 1890.
