About this site
The Banshu Maru is a Japanese wreck lying in Subic Bay off the Bataan Peninsula in the Philippines, sunk during World War II. It rests on its side and has become encrusted with coral growth over the decades, reachable by a short boat ride from Subic town. The wreck bottoms out at around 54 metres and is rated a technical dive, so it draws less of the recreational crowd than some of the bay's other wrecks and more divers looking to work the deeper hull sections. Visibility in Subic Bay can be variable, and conditions on the wreck should be expected to change with the season.
