About this site

Batu Layar is a dive site off Perhentian Besar, one of the two main Perhentian Islands off the northeast coast of Terengganu in peninsular Malaysia. The area sits in the South China Sea and is typically reached by short boat rides from resorts and jetties on Perhentian Besar and its neighboring island, Perhentian Kecil. The reef here tops out at around 16 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported angelfish, barracuda, pufferfish, and scorpionfish around the site.
