Perhentian Island refers to the Perhentian Islands, a pair of islands off the northeast coast of Terengganu state in Peninsular Malaysia, in the South China Sea, close to the Thai border and reached by boat from the mainland jetty at Kuala Besut. The surrounding waters hold numerous smaller dive and snorkel sites rather than one single named spot, and among these are wreck dives rated advanced.
