About this site
The Perhentian Islands sit off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia in Terengganu state, made up of the two main islands of Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil surrounded by a scatter of smaller dive and snorkel sites. Kapal Polis Wreck lies in the waters off Perhentian Besar and is reached by boat from the island's dive operators. It sits on a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 50 metres and is rated a technical dive, with extreme depth noted as a hazard. Divers have reported barracuda, blue-ringed octopus, harlequin shrimp, and Napoleon wrasse around the wreck.
