About this site
Beacon Point lies in the Similan Islands off the coast of Phang Nga province in southern Thailand, an archipelago in the Andaman Sea reached by boat from piers near Khao Lak or Phuket. The islands are part of a national park known for granite boulder formations both above and below the waterline, and here the bottom is rock, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres on a dive rated intermediate. Divers have reported angelfish, pufferfish, snapper, trevally, and triggerfish around the site, along with occasional hammerhead shark sightings.
