About this site
Big Fish is a dive site off Atauro Island, a small island in East Timor located in the Ombai Strait north of Dili. The island's coastline drops into deep water close to shore, a characteristic of many sites around Atauro, and Big Fish reaches a maximum depth of around 50 metres. It is rated an advanced dive due to strong currents running through the site. Divers have reported barracuda, hammerhead sharks, mackerel, trevally, and tuna passing through the area.
