Bolones de Chankanaab lies along the sheltered west coast of Cozumel, near Chankanaab Park south of San Miguel, within the island's protected marine park where the limestone shelf drops toward the channel between Cozumel and the Yucatan mainland. The site sits over a reef bottom with light current, reaching a maximum depth of about 22.6 metres, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported eagle rays, lobster, and moray eels along the reef here.
