About this site
Bunutan is a stretch of coastline in the Amed area on the northeast coast of Bali, near Tulamben, with dive sites typically reached by short boat trips from the beach villages that line this part of the coast. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, generally with light current and good visibility, though divers have also reported stronger currents and thermoclines at times. Barracuda, fusiliers, garden eels, nudibranchs, snapper, and trevally are regularly seen on the reef. Divers have also reported batfish, eagle rays, lionfish, mimic octopus, moray eels, octopus, pygmy seahorses, reef sharks, stingrays, surgeonfish, and even the occasional whale shark passing through.
