About this site
Higashi Drop-off (東ドロップ) is a boat-dive wall in the Chibishi islets, about 30 minutes from Naha, Okinawa, with a maximum depth of 25 m and an average around 12 m. The sheer wall falls from 5 m straight down, and it is dived as a drift, covering a wide area on the current. Red sea fans cover the face, hiding well-camouflaged sea-fan crabs, and green and loggerhead turtles rest in the recesses and on top of the wall; schools of purple anthias, anthias and fusiliers are typical. Current is strong at times; intermediate and above.
