Chrisoula K. (Marcus) Wreck of the Tiles

The Chrisoula K, also known as the Wreck of the Tiles, lies on the reef at Abu Nuhas in the Strait of Gubal, Red Sea, off Shadwan Island in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate. The ship was a Greek cargo freighter carrying Italian floor tiles when it struck the reef and sank in 1981, and much of that cargo can still be seen scattered through the hold. The wreck reaches a maximum depth of around 27 metres and is rated an intermediate dive, with the bow shallower near the reef top and the stern sloping down toward that maximum, though currents around Abu Nuhas can add difficulty. It is usually dived alongside the other wrecks on the same reef, reached by liveaboard or day boat from Hurghada. Barracuda, lionfish, and moray eels are regularly seen on the wreck, and divers have also reported fusiliers, glassfish, grouper, jacks and amberjack, nudibranchs, octopus, snapper, stonefish, trevally, and tuna moving through the structure and surrounding reef.
