About this site
Cirkewwa, at the northwestern tip of Malta near the Gozo ferry terminal, is home to a cluster of intentionally scuttled wrecks including the P29 patrol boat and the tugboat Rozi, sunk to create artificial reefs for divers. The area is easily accessed from shore and is one of the most popular dive zones on the island, combining wreck penetration with reef swim-throughs and a shallow area known as the Arch. Depths here range from a few metres near shore down to around 30 to 36 metres at the wrecks themselves, making it suitable for a wide range of experience levels depending on which part of the site is dived. Visibility in this part of Malta is generally good, and the site is popular with both training dives and more experienced wreck divers.
