About this site
Deep Six lies off Koh Payu, one of the islands in the Similan chain in the Andaman Sea off Phang Nga province in southern Thailand. The Similans are reached by boat from the mainland or by liveaboards operating out of Phuket or Khao Lak, and the granite formations around these islands typically form boulder-strewn slopes and swim-throughs below the surface. The site has a rocky bottom reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres and is rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported challenging currents here, along with sightings of bannerfish, bumphead parrotfish, frogfish, manta rays, and sweetlips.
