About this site

East of Eden lies off Koh Payu in the Similan Islands, part of the Mu Ko Similan archipelago in Phang Nga province off the Andaman Sea coast of southern Thailand. The islands are reached by boat, typically on liveaboard trips or day excursions running out of Khao Lak or Phuket during the diving season from roughly November to April. The site sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of about 40 metres, rated an intermediate dive with light current and great visibility. Leopard sharks are a regular sighting here, and divers have also reported angelfish, nudibranch, reef sharks, and scorpionfish on the reef.
