About this site
El Arco Del Tropic is a dive site off Malpelo Island, a remote volcanic outcrop roughly 500 kilometres off Colombia's Pacific coast and the core of the Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. The site, and the island's sites generally, are reachable only by liveaboard after an extended ocean crossing, with terrain marked by steep rocky walls, arches, and pinnacles shaped by open swell. Divers here have reported Black-nosed Butterflyfish, Blue-and-gold Snapper, Galápagos Gregory, King Angelfish, and hump and shoulderblade coral formations among the reef structure.
