About this site
El Salpatxot is one of the dive sites around the Medes Islands, a small archipelago off L'Estartit on the Costa Brava in Girona province, Catalonia. The islands and surrounding waters form a protected marine reserve, reached by short boat trips from L'Estartit harbor. The site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of about 24 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported grouper, moray eels, and octopus around the reef here.
