About this site
Originally constructed as a steamship to serve as Capt. Henry Bundy's fourth "Gospel Ship", she was later lengthened after she became part of the Arnold Line fleet serving Mackinac Island and the surrounding area. Cut down to a deck barge in later years, with her engine & boiler removed, she sat idle at the island for a few years, and was burned as a spectacle off Arch Rock as part of a celebration of the beginning of construction of the Mackinac Bridge. After burning to the waterline she had to be rammed a few times before she went under, drifting a bit to the north. Her frames sit upright on the bottom. Lies in about 36.6 m; sank 1954.
