About this site
The 203-ft. steamer Peshtigo stranded on Mackinac Island's Mission Point in a 1908 storm, and was broken up by ice and wave action. Much of her hull is covered now, but portions can still be located in the shallows between shore and Red Buoy #2, and along the east edge of the drop-off. Lies in about 3 m; sank 1908.
