About this site
A 33 m iron trawler seized by customs on 9 August 1982 in a drug case, left derelict at Port-la-Nouvelle and scuttled as an artificial reef in 1985 facing the harbour. The wreck (Le Hollandais) lies parallel to the coast in 18 to 20 m, 2.5 km from the port, south-south-east of the harbour lights; its port side rises 2 m above the bottom, the starboard side only 1 m, and little of the ship remains beyond the deck ends. Little frequented, Level 2–3, boat only, exposed, with unclear water.
