Flare Point

Flare Point sits on the Great Barrier Reef, where vibrant coral gardens and steep drop-offs create dramatic underwater terrain. Schools of tropical fish swirl around bommies, while reef sharks patrol the deeper sections. Visibility often exceeds 30 meters, with warm water year-round. The site's sloping reef transitions to a wall, offering varied depths for all divers. Turtles and rays are common sightings. Currents can be moderate, making it ideal for drift diving. Coral coverage remains healthy, with hard and soft corals thriving. Night dives reveal nocturnal creatures like octopus and lobsters. Accessible by liveaboard or day trips from Cairns.
