About this site
Steve's Bomme sits on the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef off far north Queensland, in the Ribbon Reefs area near Lizard Island and Cairns. Sites in this stretch are typically reached by liveaboard, with bommie formations rising from the reef flat as a common feature of the local topography. Divers here have reported blackspotted puffers, freckled hawkfish, oblique-banded sweetlips, Pacific bullethead parrotfish, paletail unicornfish, pink skunk anemonefish, and swarthy parrotfish around the bommie structure.
