About this site
This dive site off Pico Island features dramatic underwater lava formations, with caves, arches, and swim-throughs created by volcanic activity. The clear Atlantic waters reveal schools of barracuda, groupers, and occasional manta rays. Strong currents attract pelagic species, making it ideal for advanced divers. The black basalt formations contrast with colorful sponges and corals. Depths range from 12 to 30 meters, with visibility often exceeding 20 meters. The site offers a unique mix of geology and marine life in the Azorean waters.
