About this site
Gubal Island sits in the Strait of Gubal at the mouth of the Gulf of Suez, part of the Red Sea Governorate in Egypt. It lies along one of the busiest shipping approaches to the Suez Canal, an area known for its scattered wrecks, and is typically reached by boat from Hurghada or Sharm el-Sheikh. The site is a beginner dive to around 18 metres, and divers have reported clownfish, octopus, and parrotfish around the area.
