About this site
The Barge sits in the Jubal Island area of the Red Sea Governorate, off Hurghada, in a stretch of the Red Sea known for strong currents around the strait separating Sinai from the Egyptian mainland. Jubal Island itself is a low, uninhabited outcrop used mainly as a marker for boats crossing between Hurghada and the Sinai coast.
