About this site
Hot Springs, also known as Underwater Volcano, lies off the coast of Aceh at the northern tip of Sumatra, in waters near the southern edge of the Andaman Sea. The name reflects geothermal activity on the seabed, likely vents or warm seeps, which fits the volcanic geology found throughout this part of Indonesia. It is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 18 metres over reef terrain. Divers have reported grouper, pufferfish, and snapper on the site.
