About this site
Ita Beach (井田 ビーチ) is a shore-entry site at Ita, Numazu, on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 35 m and an average around 15 m, suitable from beginner level, with some current at times. The site is a 200 m stretch of beach over the steep drop-off typical of Suruga Bay, and good water exchange keeps visibility high through the year, known locally as Ita blue. It has both shallow and deep zones, so the life runs from macro to wide-angle, rare and seasonal species, with large schools of takabe in autumn as the highlight of this single beach site.
