About this site
Monshita (門下) is a shore-entry site at Osezaki, Numazu, on the west coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka, with a maximum depth of 30 m and an average around 20 m, suitable from beginner level. It is especially popular with photographers: beyond the boulders the sand carries plenty of soft coral and macro subjects such as red frogfish. The shallows have caves and crevasses where spiny lobster and sweepers are found.
